Introduction

Protecting your personal information is a priority for Matrack Inc.. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to www.matrackinc.com and to our products and services.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information. Where we rely on your consent — including for non-essential cookies and tracking technologies — we obtain that consent through our cookie banner.

Personal Information We Collect

We collect personal information in two ways: information you provide to us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit our website or use our products and services.

Information you provide to us

You may provide personal information when you:

  • Register for an account
  • Request a quote, demo, or information about our services
  • Activate or manage a tracking device or subscription
  • Contact customer support by email, telephone, or live chat
  • Sign up for marketing communications, promotions, or surveys

This may include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, account credentials, and payment information.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our service providers automatically collect information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, domain names, access times, referring website addresses, the pages you view, the links you click, and your interactions with our pages and forms.

Information from our products

When you use our GPS tracking devices and services, we collect location data reported by those devices, including precise real-time geographic location, together with device identifiers and diagnostic information.

How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve our website, products, and services
  • Process and fulfil orders, activate devices, and manage subscriptions and billing
  • Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries
  • Communicate with you about your account, orders, and service changes
  • Send marketing communications, where permitted, from which you may unsubscribe at any time
  • Measure and improve the performance and usability of our website
  • Deliver and measure advertising
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Session Recording

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate our website, understand how it is used, and deliver advertising.

Essential technologies. Some technologies are necessary for the website to function — maintaining your session, enabling forms and requests, and protecting against fraud. These operate at all times.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics (Google LLC), including Google Analytics 4 and Google Universal Analytics, to understand how visitors use our website. Google receives information including your IP address, device and browser characteristics, the pages you view, and the actions you take on our website.

Advertising. We use Google Ads (Google LLC) and the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) to deliver and measure advertising, including advertising shown to you on other websites, apps, and platforms, and to build advertising audiences. These providers receive information about your visit and may combine it with information they already hold about you.

Marketing and messaging. We use Klaviyo, Inc. and OptinMonster to manage email and SMS marketing and on-site messaging. Where you have given us your email address or telephone number, these providers may associate your activity on our website with that contact information.

Session recording. We use DealerPro ViewPulse and Mouseflow ApS to record and replay how visitors interact with our website. These technologies capture your interactions with our pages, including mouse movements, clicks, scrolling, pages viewed, and information you enter into forms. Fields used to collect passwords and payment card information are masked and are not captured. We use these recordings to diagnose technical problems, understand usability issues, and improve the website.

Live chat. Our website offers a chat feature operated by a third-party provider. Messages you send through chat, and information you provide during a chat, are transmitted to and stored by that provider, and may be recorded and reviewed for quality assurance and to improve our services. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the chat.

Your choices. Non-essential cookies and tracking technologies are used only where you have consented through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page. We also recognize and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information.

How We Share Personal Information

We share personal information with:

  • Service providers and contractors who perform services on our behalf — including hosting, payment processing, order fulfilment, analytics, session recording, customer support, live chat, and email and SMS delivery. These providers are permitted to use personal information only to provide services to us and are required to keep it confidential.
  • Advertising partners, as described in the section above.
  • Law enforcement and government authorities, where we are required to do so by law, in response to a subpoena, warrant, or other lawful request, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
  • Parties to a corporate transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Matrack Inc. does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties. For how the terms “sale” and “sharing” apply under California law, see the California section below.

Location Information About Tracked Individuals

Our products report the location of the person, vehicle, or asset to which a device is attached. That location information is made available to the customer who purchased and installed the device, and is processed by us in order to deliver the service.

Customers are responsible for obtaining any consent required by law from individuals they track. If you believe a Matrack Inc. device is being used to track you without your consent, contact us at support@matrackinc.com or 1-855-658-7225.

Security of Your Personal Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit using the SSL/TLS protocol and infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or any wireless network, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How Long We Keep Personal Information

We retain each category of personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, and thereafter for as long as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

  • GPS tracking data — one year from the date the data enters our system, and erased upon termination of service.
  • Account and order records — for the life of your account, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet tax, accounting, warranty, and legal obligations.
  • Website analytics and advertising data — for the retention period configured with each analytics and advertising provider, after which it is deleted or aggregated.
  • Session recordings — for the retention period configured with our session recording providers, after which they are automatically deleted.
  • Chat transcripts — for as long as needed to support you and to review service quality, and thereafter as required by law.
  • Marketing contact information — until you unsubscribe, and thereafter only as needed to honor your opt-out.
